About the Founder

Omar Akhtar is the Founder and Principal Analyst at Benchmarker, leading research on marketing excellence. Previously, he was Head of Research at Altimeter, a Prophet Company, where he authored reports on digital transformation, marketing, and content. As an Associate Partner at Prophet, he advised Fortune 500 companies, including Microsoft, Salesforce, Adobe, and Netflix, on marketing, data, and content strategies.

Earlier, Omar was Editor-in-Chief of The Hub (now DMNews.com) and a writer at Fortune Magazine. A frequent speaker and moderator, he has been cited in NPR, CNET, Forbes, and TechCrunch. He is also the co-author of the best-selling book Winning Through Platforms.
